NNBA’s 2016 Shark Tank Competition returns and you can swim with the sharks by applying here https://nnbanow.com/nnba-shark-tank-competition/. Everyone from last year wanted to see more of the tank and many nurses in the audience said they planned to be part of this years’ experience. It is literally “pure pitch”, with nothing but the value of your idea and presenting skills to support it. Awards, Cash and Prizes; don’t miss the fun.
You’ve heard the expression ‘Don’t put all your eggs in one basket’. Never before has that investment advice been more applicable to Nurses. Hospitals and Healthcare Delivery Systems that used to be founded by philanthropy and healthcare advocates, have now been merged into Corporations. Staffing decisions are not being made from the standpoint of what is best for the patient; as the nurses in Washington DC this past week attested to. It’s critical for nurses to take charge of our careers. We can protect our income by learning a variety of income generating opportunities using our current degrees and experience. Invest in yourself and come to NNBA’s 31st annual conference where you’ll discover multiple ideas and learn different ways of generating income. Extend your network and join us in Las Vegas!
Unconventionally yours,

Michelle

Rohn: 6 Ways to Act on Your Ambition

Success Magazine
According to a study of 500 small-medium businesses across the United States, 90% are actively engaged in social media. This fact is very interesting for two reasons. The first is that social media is no longer a fad but rather an online marketing strategy that has very high adoption. The second is that because 9 out of every 10 businesses are using free social media platforms to grow their businesses, so do you. If you choose to be the 10% that fights against the tide, you will end up drowning. With that being said, let’s look at 10 social media marketing tips that every online merchant should know. These tips are aimed at the beginner or inexperienced online marketer and I can guarantee you that if you read to the end, you will have learnt enough to dramatically improve your social media marketing.
When we see an incredible success story, many of us entertain the notion of a lone entrepreneur, hustling day and night to bring his or her dream to life. But that rarely happens.

Mark Zuckerberg is the epitome of that lone-entrepreneur archetype: a college dropout and technology disrupter. What few people realize, though, is that Zuck had many mentors along the way, including Steve Jobs. In fact, Zuck credits Jobs with teaching him about building strong teams and keeping the company focused. Undoubtedly, that connection helped Zuck turn Facebook into what it is today.

The reality is that the more influencers you know, the better your chances of realizing greater success. Successful entrepreneurs strategically use their networks to their advantage.
Building your ambition is building your enterprising skills: To consistently create new opportunity, to consistently take advantage of the opportunity you’ve created, to be aware, to face life with your eyes and ears open to the possibilities that might be just around the corner. Self-enterprising people always see the future in the present. Self-enterprising people will always find a way to take advantage of a situation, not be burdened by it.

Enterprise is always better than ease. Every time we choose to do less than we possibly can, it affects our self-confidence, our self-worth. If we keep doing a little less every day, we are also being a little less. If we don’t feel good about ourselves, we won’t feel good about our lives. And if we don’t feel good about our lives, we won’t be very interested in looking for opportunities.

  • research and teach the full range of therapeutic options so people can make fully informed decisions about their care
