Wowza, it’s May already!
When I was a little girl about 5 years old we lived in Hawaii and I remember holding beautiful colorful ribbons that were hooked on a pole. This pole was called the May pole and I remember all of us kids held on to the ribbon and walked around it. I didn't know why we were doing it at the time, all I know is that it was fun! We were celebrating something! May Day, or May 1st, has been celebrated in one way or another throughout history.
Years later I now know why we celebrate.
Well first off it’s actually the mid point between spring and summer, thats a bit of a trivia, right!?!
Well I went and did some research myself and found that May day means many things, from pagans rituals to factory workers and a few others. Check out what I found here. It’s all quite an interesting read.
May is not only about the May pole, it also is the month to celebrate our beautiful Moms all over the world. Lots’ of celebrating going on!
If you have a Mom. Grandma in your life or have some one close to you, please go to them give them a big hug and a big kiss and just say thank you, thank you for being them, then get them in the car and join us for a grand International Mothers Day celebration at Grape Day Park. I know for some of you that it is just too hard to get to a dance or fitness class, this is why I have structured my classes to be in studio or on line. I have an exclusive member hub that you have access to 24/7 to learn from anywhere you are around the world! Over 400 live dance and fitness classes. New classes posted weekly! Check it out here. For those that want an intimate small group setting to learn from, then join me in my in studio classes. I have two classes that are offered in studio in Escondido, California. My Wednesday evening class is an ongoing belly dance class starting at 7:00 pm. If you care to stay for our choreography class this starts at 8 pm. My NewVo fitness class, which is a multi-cultural fitness class that takes you around the world in less than 45 minutes, will leave you energized all day.
