It’s no surprise that single-use plastics (SUP) are a major source of pollution in Southeast Asia and one of the biggest hurdles towards achieving Zero Waste. #breakfreefromplastic members in the Philippines are actively working for a legislation that will enforce a comprehensive national SUP ban.

“A comprehensive national ban on single-use plastic will not only ‘clean up’ the plastic problem, but will ensure that no more harmful disposable plastic will pollute our cities, beaches, and mountains, kill wildlife and marine life, and threaten our health,” said Aileen Lucero, National Coordinator of Ecowaste Coalition.
