OPENING WEEKEND HIGHLIGHTS.

There are obviously amazing films right across the 17 days of the Festival, highlights this weekend include Luxor starring CFF favourite Andrea Riseborough, which the Guardian described as a "beautifully sparse character study amid Egypt's ancient glory".

Writer-directors Christine Molloy and Joe Lawlor’s, Rose Plays Julie which Peter Bradshaw, in his four star review, described as "eerie, edge-of-your-seat suspense."

Fairy-tale and docudrama flourishes alike embellish Samuel Kishi Leopo's semi-autobiographical story of two immigrant boys left home alone in Los Lobos.

Following her 2016 documentary Future Baby (which screened at CFF36) Maria Arlamovsky returns with Robolove which investigates the morality and humanity of robots and AI as they play ever more important roles in all our lives.
