Subject: Healing Thoughts from Wilbur Hot Springs

April 1, 2020

Dearest Wilbur Community,

How are you holding up? We’re thinking of you and we hope you and your loved ones are staying safe and keeping healthy.

You likely know that we temporarily closed Wilbur Hot Springs to guests on March 13 in accordance with best practices to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.

We wanted to reach out and let you know that Wilbur Hot Springs remains in the good care of resident staff who are working daily to take care of cleaning and maintenance that we usually reserve for our annual Close-Down, when no guests are on property. Staff have the ease of social-distancing up here, as there is plenty of space, and keeping one-another healthy is our top priority.

We will have Wilbur sparkling and renewed for your return, when the day arrives. In the meantime, please enjoy these photos and imagine yourselves walking the hills at Wilbur, soaking in the flumes and enjoying the quiet solace of nature. We look forward to seeing you, IN PERSON, as soon as possible.

Warmly,

Your Wilbur Hot Springs Family
THE PEACE OF WILD THINGS
By Wendell Berry

When despair for the world grows in me
and I wake in the night at the least sound
in fear of what my life and my children’s lives may be,
I go and lie down where the wood drake
rests in his beauty on the water, and the great heron feeds.
I come into the peace of wild things
who do not tax their lives with forethought
of grief. I come into the presence of still water.
And I feel above me the day-blind stars
waiting with their light. For a time
I rest in the grace of the world, and am free.
