New North Covid-19 Resources & Updates

Industry Specific Reopening Guidelines from WEDC

With input from national and state health and industry experts and in partnership with the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection, the Wisconsin Department of Tourism and our regional economic development partners, WEDC has compiled a series of industry-specific documents to help you get back to business while taking the necessary precautions to maximize safety. Following these guidelines will help us all get Wisconsin’s economy back on track.

You are encouraged to bookmark this page and check back regularly for updates to guidelines and the addition of new industry documents.

On behalf of WEDC, DWD, UW Oshkosh Center for Customized Research & Services, the New North and our local partners, we invite all businesses to participate in the second round survey on the impacts of the coronavirus pandemic.

Businesses can take the survey online until May 14.

It is the second round of surveys that are planned monthly. Results of the first survey, which were released last month, showed that 8,795 jobs were lost and 35% of Wisconsin businesses said they may be forced to close if current conditions lasted more than three months.

Using Online Tools to Grow Your Export Sales in the Age of COVID-19
Tuesday, May 19 | 10 a.m.

With international travel limited dramatically during the pandemic, businesses that traditionally rely on in-person sales to grow their exports are finding themselves having to adapt to the current conditions.
WEDC is reaching out with an opportunity that will help companies develop new strategies that will allow them to keep growing their sales even while in-person meetings may not be possible.

Mark your calendar and register now for Tuesday, May 19, at 10 a.m.

The webinar, offered in partnership by WEDC and IBT Online, will explore how to create a web presence that supports international export sales, why you would want to do so, and tools and resources to help. In addition, international business development experts from WEDC will explain how the state’s grant programs can help support your company’s export growth efforts by providing matching funds to cover part of the cost of website localization and online marketing for international markets, as well as other export growth activities.
