On 11 October 2022, the online kick-off meeting of the EDITH (Ecosystem for Digital Twins in Healthcare) CSA has marked a successful inception, distinguished by the strong commitment of all its partners. The CSA, led by the VPH Institute, is granted funding of 5 million Euro by the European Commission (DG CNECT) under the Digital Europe Programme.
POLICY NEWS
On 18 October 2022, the Vice-president of the European Commission Maroš Šefčovič (Slovakia) presented the European Commission Work Programme 2023, titled “A Union standing firm and united”, during the European Parliament plenary session in Strasbourg.
The Innovative Health Initiative has published the draft texts of topics under consideration for inclusion in the next calls for proposals.
Horizon Europe’s Strategic Planning is a tool which will guide the work programmes and topics for the programme in the coming years. Like its predecessor, the Strategic Plan 2025-2027 will be co-designed with citizens and stakeholders.
The European Medicines Agency (EMA) announced the launch of a pilot to support the development of advanced therapy medicinal products (ATMPs).
VPH COMMUNITY
Emmanelle Voisin, CEO of Voisin Consulting Life Sciences and leader of the Policy Development Working Group (PDWG), explains in a nutshell the goal and main activities the PDWG focuses on. All VPHi members are welcome to join and contribute to this important initiative!

On 6 October 2022 iSi Health, the KU Leuven Institute of Physics-based Modeling for in silico Health, had its inaugural kick off event for the 2022-2023 Academic Year.

The VPH institute is looking for 2 motivated persons with a background in computer modeling and simulation, digital twins, artificial intelligence or health data to reinforce the team and help to build the ecosystem for digital twins in healthcare.
