Subject: Support Sloan Museum: Adopt a historic vehicle

Preserving history for younger generations to enjoy and learn from is extremely important.

Dear Friend,

Preserving history for younger generations to enjoy and learn from is extremely important. Due to Sloan Museum’s renovation, many of the historic vehicles formerly housed inside Buick Gallery and Sloan Museum are now on display at the Courtland Center Mall location. Visitors now have the opportunity to view nearly 40 vehicles, like the 1956 Buick Centurion and the 1954 Buick Wildcat II. Each of these cars tells their own special story.

As car enthusiasts, we know how much joy and inspiration can be invoked by learning the history of a vehicle. Sloan Museum has a new and exciting opportunity for you to get involved: Adopt-A-Car! You know and love their amazing historic vehicles, each with their own story to tell of ingenuity, creativity, and utility. You can view all of the cars available for adoption here:

Now is your chance to adopt one or more vehicles from Sloan Museum’s collection. When you adopt, you will receive signage recognition by your adopted vehicle for a full year, as well as other benefits outlined below. Adopt-A-Car sponsorships directly benefit the care and preservation of Sloan Museum’s historic collection. Adopt-a-car pricing is set to provide potential adopters with different levels to give, and does not reflect the historic value of the vehicles on display.

The benefits of adoption are numerous, and it’s a great way to support the museum. Adopting a car is a great way to relive old memories and be an active part of the living history of the automobile. You can also adopt in memory of someone, or honor a loved one with a unique and personal gift.

You can adopt a car in person, via mail, emailonline, or phone: 810-237-7391. Pricing levels are $500 and $1,000 and include the following benefits:
• Recognition on vehicle signage for one full year
• Recognition on museum website
• A special thank you on Sloan Museum’s social media platforms
• Adoption certificate

I invite you to support Sloan Museum by adopting a vehicle. Each vehicle in Sloan Museum’s collection helps tell a story about how the automotive industry shaped life in Flint—and how Flint helped put the world on wheels. Please help preserve history for younger generations to enjoy. You can view all of the cars available for adoption online—and visit them in person at Courtland Center Mall.

See you on the road,
Matt Assenmacher
