Survey Finds COBOL Modernization is Key to Strategic Business Change

| Micro Focus recently surveyed IT managers, developers, and executives who manage COBOL applications about their plans for the future. The results continue to reveal a strong trend towards modernization over replacement, showing once again that COBOL has some serious staying power (at least a decade, according to the survey).
This is good news for managers of Legacy systems. If modernization efforts continue to be executed by a large, committed group of IT professionals, lots of time-tested and cutting-edge best practices will be in play in the real world for all of us to draw lessons and inspiration from.
