Excited that my college-freshman son competed on the elite shooting team, I felt frustrated when Elliot shared some disturbing news. "I was told I wasn't a team player, so I couldn't compete in the fall Nationals." Elliot was punished and regarded as "too good" by some based on his reserved nature. This bullying behavior was what God calls stupid, crafty wisdom of this world and I knew instinctively God would help and comfort me as I would do for my own child.
"No problem, Elliot. 'God' has the last word!"
In the dictionary, a 'team player' is a person who willingly 'works' in cooperation with others. I had to cooperate with the Lord through a forgiving attitude so I could activate and release God's power in His Word like ammunition, for justice to prevail: 1. Agreement in prayer {Matthew 18:19}. 2. Exercising authority over Satan's power {Luke 10:19}. 3. Confession of God's promises so angels could work on my behalf {Hebrews 1:14}. 4. Thanksgiving {Philippians 4:6}. Without pleading to anyone to allow Elliot to compete, I waited patiently for God to intervene. When the spring Nationals arrived during Easter {Resurrection} weekend, Elliot was allowed to shoot...raising his hopes up from the grave. Elliot won first place in two separate events, set a 'high overall' record, and ranked ninth in the nation.
Father, Your plans for Elliot are bulletproof from destruction; fashioning his hands to compete in the womb. A praying mama is a dynamic 'team player' for her child's dream to come true {Isaiah 54:17}.
God's Word has blessed my life, let my words bless His Kingdom.
