The Architecture & Design Film Festival (ADFF) is proud to welcome back one of our long-standing partners — The American Institute of Architects (AIA) — for the 2018/19 season. On October 16th, ADFF:NY will feature our opening night film and reception, and AIA will be a co-host. Also during opening night we will screen the grand prize winner of this year's AIA short film competition.
Announcing the 2018 AIA Film Challenge
Tell your story. You could win $5,000 and a screening of your film in New York.

The AIA Film Challenge invites architects and filmmakers to tell stories of positive change. This year’s theme, Blueprint for Better, calls for films that highlight collaboration between architects and civic leaders. Each finalist receives $500. The grand prize winner receives $5,000 and a screening of their film at the ADFF: NY in October.
Need inspiration?
Watch the 2018 AIA Film Challenge short documentary: Caño Martin Peña: A Blueprint for Better. This film serves as an example for participants to follow when producing their submissions. It tells the story of rebuilding efforts in Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria slammed the island in September 2017, leaving more than 3 million American citizens without power and
hundreds homeless or without roofs.
