DFW Community Events/Duas
East Plano Islamic Center (EPIC) invites you to our FREE and FIRST EVER Conference titled ‘Trapped’ on the topic of Addiction. The daylong Conference will feature several prominent Scholars (see list below) and will be held at EPIC in Plano, TX on Jan 21, 2017 from 10:30 AM to 8:00 PM. The attendance is FREE and includes FREE babysitting, but RSVP is requested. Please click on Find Tickets (above) to RSVP.

THEME OF THE CONFERENCE
Muslims living in the west are directly impacted and influenced by the social and cultural changes that are transforming the Western moral landscape. Traditional family values that are the very fabric of society are being challenged and morphed to include new concepts that are in direct contradiction to Islamic values. Promiscuity, immorality, alcohol and drug abuse, addiction to pornography, and extremism are destroying individuals and families. Misguided personal whims through Music and Social Media are becoming measures of coolness and success today.

The impact of these issues is by all means severe. Hence, it is incumbent upon us to get educated about these issues so that we can not only avoid running into these pitfalls, but also help those who have, attain true peace and harmony by following the Qu'ran and the Sunnah.
