Manitowoc's Burger Boat Company helps overhaul popular Lake Express car ferry

The first high-speed auto passenger ferry in the U.S. traversed Lake Michigan for the first time on June 1, 2004, and has transferred thousands of people and vehicles in the years since. Lake Express is nearing the end of a two-year renewal project that included exterior and interior repainting, custom replacement of all passenger seating, hull maintenance, engine overhauls and other maintenance work.

DescriptionIn support of this new accredited degree, Johnsonville donated $500,000 to help Lakeland create a state-of-the-art, on-campus lab allowing hands-on experience that replicates the work conditions that students will find on the job. Johnsonville joined the University and other business supporters in a ribbon-cutting event held in April at the school’s campus.
