Tips & Tools for Recovery That Works!
|

Role playing is a great way to prepare and practice overcoming urges in circumstances that may be problematic (dates, weddings, etc.). This tool can help one envision future urge scenarios, and then play them out with a friend, in advance, to rehearse the urge situation and create the most desirable non-relapse outcome.

SMART Recovery cares for our volunteers. In fact, many of your names are well known to the National Office staff. We assist with registrations and trainings; we answer your phone calls and emails; we update your meetings and Zoom licenses; we moderate blog comments, answer questions, and do everything we can to assist you. In the past two years, not only has SMART Recovery transitioned to a new executive director, but we’ve also grown our National Office team to 12 employees and six contractors.

Are you interested in helping others overcome addictive substances and/or behaviors? Did SMART Recovery help you change your life, and now you want to give others the same opportunity? Consider being trained in the SMART Recovery program!
Being a SMART facilitator is an important and rewarding volunteer position. By becoming a SMART facilitator, you support:
- Providing free face-to-face and online mutual-support meetings
- Providing forums for learning about and discussing addictive behaviors
- Advocating for choice in help for recovery from addictive behaviors
