August 20, 2020 - At the invitation of His Excellency Mr. Jules Doret NDONGO, Minister of Forestry and Wildlife of Cameroon, current President of the Central African Forest Commission (COMIFAC), the CBFP Facilitator of the Federal Republic of Germany, Honorable Dr. Christian Ruck, on behalf of all CBFP member partners, delivered a speech during the protocol segment of the extraordinary meeting of the Council of Ministers in charge of Forests and/or Environment of the COMIFAC member countries.



At the invitation of Mr. Jules Doret NDONGO, Cameroon Minister of Forestry and Wildlife, current President of the Council of Ministers in charge of Forestry and/or Environment of COMIFAC member countries was held on 20 August 2020 by videoconference.



The Global Center on Adaptation today announced the launch of its regional office in Côte d’Ivoire. Hosted by the African Development Bank at its headquarters in the Ivorian capital Abidjan, GCA Africa will work with partners across the continent to scale and accelerate adaptation action that protects African communities from the impacts of climate change.

DAKAR (Reuters) - Cameroon has backtracked on a decision to allow industrial logging in one of the region’s least exploited rainforests, home to rare gorillas, tool-wielding chimpanzees and giant frogs.

Following a negotiation process which was begun at the G7 Biarritz summit, then at the United Nations General Assembly, and spearheaded by our country, France and its partners, countries in the Amazon Basin, Congo Basin and South-East Asia, and European donor countries agreed on the text of a Charter establishing the Alliance for Rainforests.

Over the last fifty years, the sharp increase in world trade and consumption, as well as the strong growth of the human population and a gigantic urbanization movement have metamorphosed our world. These developments have led to unprecedented degradation of nature and overexploitation of natural resources.


This study therefore evaluated the contribution of NTFP valorisation to the livelihood assets of local people around the northern periphery of the Dja Faunal Reserve (DFR), East Cameroon. To achieve this objective, data collected from 215 households in 32 villages were analyzed using factor analysis, Mann–Whitney U tests, and structural equation modelling.

The objective of the consultancy is to prepare, on behalf of MINEPDED, the necessary safeguards documents to comply with WWF’s Environment and Social Safeguards Framework (ESSF), as detailed in the Safeguards Integrated Policies and Procedures (SIPP). All candidates interested in conducting this assessment on a consultant basis should submit, no later than September 28th, 2020

The main objective is to produce two simplified operational guides on FSC certification for CSOs and gabonese village committees to advocate for the implementation of voluntary environmental and social commitments made by companies. Deadline for applications: September 19, 2020.




The consultation shall be carried out over a period of 30 (thirty) working days, between September 15 and October 31, 2020. The Consultant shall provide a schedule of activities based on the approach and for the period mentioned above. All candidates interested in conducting this assessment on a consultant basis should submit, no later than September 20th, 2020.




IFED is currently looking for National representatives for African countries (apart from Cameroon and Burkina Faso). The selected candidates will facilitate the development of IFED’s activities in the concerned country. Interested candidates are requested to apply by sending their CV and a cover letter through email  no later than October 20, 2020 at midnight (GMT time).
