POLICY NEWS
Croatia has taken over the presidency on January 1st 2020, ending on June 30th 2020.
The EC has launched the seventh edition of the EU Prize for Women Innovators, including in health care, from across the EU. The Prize consists of awards of €100,000 or €50,000. If you think you have what it takes to become the next EU Woman Innovator, don’t miss your chance and apply before Tuesday 21 April 2020.
On 4 February 2020, the European Commission officially opened the consultation period for Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan. The roadmap will be open for feedback for four weeks until 3 March 2020
VPH COMMUNITY
2019 has been an intense and fruitful year for the VPH Institute! Now that 2020 has started, we would like to take the opportunity to give you an overview of what has been done and what it is already planned for next year.
The 2020 edition of the AAAS conference, the world’s largest general scientific gathering, took place in Seattle, February 13-16. The VPHi was present at the event and contributed to the organisation of a symposium on Bioinformatics and AI.
7 - 9 Sept 2020 - Bologna (Italy). Would you like to increase your knowledge on "In Silico Trials"? The International School offers a systematic, non-technical review of the strengths and weaknesses of in silico trials technologies for a better and deeper understanding of the threats and opportunities that this new technology offers
This recent Elsevier Methods paper published by the STriTuVaD consortium explains how to use step by step the ASME VV-40 to assess the credibility of predictive models for in silico trials
A ‘digital twin’ of the human cardiovascular system will be developed by researchers at the University of Sheffield as part of the ‘Enhancing Cardiac Care Through Extensive Sensing’ (ECHOES) project
On 7 February 2020, members of the OpenMultiMed COST action and the VPH community organised a joint workshop in Leuven.
Only few days left to send a proposal for the organsation of the VPH2022 conference, THE most important event of the VPH community. Bids need to be submitted by 28 Feb 2020. 
The Corbel consortium collected success stories to explain how they have been able to concretely help researchers thanks to the use of their infrastructures.
