The Role of Afterschool Programs in the Census Count

Afterschool programs and educators are uniquely suited to promote and benefit from an accurate census count. Funding that supports communities and families is derived from Census data. And in turn, OST Educators are trusted voices in their communities with access to the resources needed to help facilitate participation. Get our guide on the Census in Virginia and how programs can help.

Stand up for afterschool!  President Trump's proposed budget plan eliminates afterschool and summer learning programs for 1.7 million young people across the United States.

Tell your members of Congress to protect the programs America’s children and families rely on.

Policymakers in the House and Senate have the power to decide whether local afterschool and summer learning programs will remain open or close their doors. Your advocacy has saved 21st Century Community Learning Centers before: can we count on you again?

Tell Congress to protect afterschool programs.
Tell us your 21st CCLC Story!

We would like to hear from current 21st CCLC sites about the impact of their program. VPOST would like to develop materials that highlight the importance of funding 21st CCLC. Let us shine a light on your program and it's valuable work. Contact Christine at christine.jones-monaccio@v-post.org.
