Dear Nurses,

Independence Day and The 4th of July celebrations are around the corner. What about your independence day? The NNBA is filled with nurses that have achieved just that! Freedom, flexibility and increased income are the top reasons nurses are starting and expanding their own businesses. If you feel that your current work situation just isn’t fitting you, or is no longer serving the person you’ve become, take a look at NNBAnow.com.

Discover how your diverse experience as a nurse translates into high-demand and emerging business opportunities. NNBA’s Nurse Entrepreneurship and Career Alternatives Conference is an educational development event eligible for up to 14 CEs. This conference provides massive value with nationally recognized speakers, relevant and compelling topics, and powerful collaborative networking that is off the charts. You can check out the full agenda and hotel information here: https://nnbanow.com/nnba-conference-2019/

There are 3 entries so far for NNBA’s 5th Annual Shark Tank Competition! Is it your year to pitch from the stage? Click above to read all about this informative, impactful, and fun event. Better yet, check out the brief videos on NNBA’s home page!

I recently posted on Facebook’s NNBA Business Page, a list of resources I have used in my business. One of those resources was Fiverr. Wall Street saw Fiverr’s IPO 2 weeks ago. Dubbed the “gig-economy,” companies like Fiverr have picked up on the increase in freelancing or remote positions on the market—and are starting to capitalize on it. We will see more and more nurses working in the gig-economy with case management, telehealth, consulting, and writing gigs to name a few.

Our first article of Interest is How to Write a Blog. It is a very good read with considerable detail, so you may want to bookmark it and return to it later. Expert bloggers Brittney Wilson, The Nerdy Nurse, and Kati Kleber, Fresh RN are presenting the preconference Digital Marketing for Nurse Entrepreneurs covering Blogging, Social Media and Online Branding. Next is 7 Habits of Successful Entrepreneurs. It starts with a successful mindset and understanding that you are your best asset. This flows beautifully into our final article, Don’t Compare Your Life to Someone’s Highlight Reel. That’s tweetable and fantastic advice!

Unconventionally yours,

Don’t Compare Your Life to Someone’s Highlight Reel

Positivity Blog
You've probably heard how paramount blogging is to the success of your marketing. But it's important that you learn how to start a blog and write blog posts for it so that each article supports your business.

Without a blog, your SEO can tank, you'll have nothing to promote in social media, you'll have no clout with your leads and customers, and you'll have fewer pages to put those valuable calls-to-action that generate inbound leads.

So why, oh why, does almost every marketer I talk to have a laundry list of excuses for why they can't consistently blog?

As an entrepreneur, you’re always on the lookout for the next big moneymaker. But what if I told you that the wealth that you strive for is already at your fingertips? You are your own best asset because by learning how to become your most effective self, you will maximize your earning potential and realize your dreams of entrepreneurship.

In fact, you can earn more if you adopt the 7 habits of successful online entrepreneurs I have listed below:
1. A Mindset Geared Toward Success

2. Fearlessness
“When you are content to be simply yourself and don’t compare or compete, everybody will respect you.”   ~   Lao Tzu

Today I’d like to focus on a negative habit that creates insecurity within, erodes self-esteem and can make you feel quite unhappy with your own life.
It’s something that has sprung up as we have moved a part of our lives on to the internet and social media.

And that habit is to compare yourself and your life to other people’s highlight reels.

What do I mean by that?
