In the August 2020 edition of the IAGR eNews, President Paul Newson discusses the current opportunities for IAGR to renew its focus on building partnerships to extend IAGR's reach and influence in advancing best practice gambling regulation globally, to establish a mechanism through which IAGR could more easily access new viewpoints from across the globe, and to grow IAGR's governance and strategic capability.
Paul also takes the opportunity to highlight landmark disciplinary complaints in an Australian jurisdiction and to announce a thrilling concept which will be held in conjunction with the Disrupting the Regulator conference in September 2021.

RESPONSIBLE GAMBLING IN FOCUS - EVOLVING CUSTOMER INTERACTIONS
Research recently undertaken in the United Kingdom explores the experiences and perceptions of consumers and how their interactions with gambling operations has implications for regulators internationally.
This qualitative study undertaken by 2CV on behalf of the United Kingdom Gambling Commission has found some interesting differences between user perceptions and their experiences. The research undertaken by 2CV also found that players normalize their own behavior while perceiving others as at risk.
