The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay is teaming up with Louisville-based tech company Interapt and global education provider General Assembly to launch a new tech training pathway for people in the Green Bay area.

With unemployment at an all-time high in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, the software engineering program will provide tuition-free technical training to a class of 25 individuals, giving them an opportunity to develop the technical skills needed to kickstart a new career in data science, software development, digital marketing, UX design, robotic process automation, information technology and other tech related fields.

Proponents of a redevelopment plan for Lakeside Park that adds a multipurpose building near the lighthouse on Lake Winnebago have come out with new branding that invites the public to send questions their way.

Lakeside Forward describes itself as "a group of like-minded businesses and community organizations who are committed to the realization of the elements of the Lakeside Park Master Plan as developed by the Lakeside Park Exploratory Committee."

Low interest rates keep Wisconsin home builders busy, but supply shortages a cause for concern

Low mortgage interest rates helped fuel an 11% increase in new home construction in northeastern and Central Wisconsin, even as the national economy endured its worst downturn in history.

New home construction permits issued during the first half of the year increased to 1,454 in a 16-county area that includes the Green Bay, Appleton, Oshkosh, Wausau, Stevens Point, Sheboygan, Manitowoc, Marinette and Fond du Lac metro areas.

Those with opinions on the future of transportation in Wisconsin are being invited to make their thoughts known to the state DOT. The agency is developing its new 30-year transportation plan, called “Connect 2050”, and as part of the plan they’ve posted an online survey to gauge public opinions of six key areas: Economic Vitality, Safety and Security, Quality of Life and Natural Environment, System Integration and Connectivity, System Management, and Funding and Project Costs.
