More and more nurses are understanding Why 1 + 1 = 11. This concept can really leverage value and launch new collaborations and partnerships. Each year during our conference, we witness this phenomenon, and it is so exciting to see what the following months bring.

Switching to a 4 Day Work Week

Startup Mindset
When you’re a serious professional, you are often able to make connections and acquire more resources. In fact, growth naturally depends on that. What you can’t do is magically tack more minutes onto the day. Time is a limited resource and by far your most important asset, so you can’t waste it. To make every second count, make sure you avoid these common time-wasting traps.

1. Using your inbox as your to-do list

So often, people look at their email first thing in the morning, read all their messages and let what’s in their inbox set their agenda for the day. And then what happens? Your real priorities get sidetracked and you don’t accomplish what you meant to do. You’re working for everybody else’s goals, not yours.

What you should be doing is handling your email around a battle plan for the day that you’ve already worked out. Your battle plan is just a set of short-term objectives that help you overcome hurdles and tackle bigger strategies step-by-step to actually get
When I was growing up, I was a huge boxing fan.

There’s a great boxing saying that says, “styles make fights”. What that means is, you could have the two best boxers in the ring, and the fight might still be boring. You could also have two below average fighters and it could still be the most exciting 12 rounds you ever see. Think about fights with Muhmammid Ali and Smokin Joe Frasier or Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfeild.

I think there’s a similar phenomenon in business. Business relationships and partnerships oftentimes can be great (they could also be terrible), but when I see two companies or two individuals coming together, and working together, and I just know that the stars completely aligned for them to both extract enormous values–I think about how 1 plus 1 equals 11.
There has been a lot of talk about major companies seriously considering moving towards a four-day work week.

But as an entrepreneur, is this something you should consider doing for yourself and your business? For me, I had thought about implementing a 4 day work week for years, but never took the steps that could make it a reality. It wasn’t until my work schedule began to affect my work/life balance that I knew that it was time to make a change.

Why I Switched and Why You Should Too

Reason #1 - Greater Life/Work Separation and Balance

As entrepreneurs, we are told over and over that it is important to love what you do. There is such a thing as loving your business too much.
My business was beginning to seep into every area of my life. I began to think so much about it that even when I wasn’t working on the business, my brain was.
