David Braley, whose gifts to the university include a $50-million investment in McMaster teaching, learning and health-care research and delivery, has allocated $7 million from that 2007 gift towards the new David Braley Centre for Antibiotic Discovery.

Dr. Gerry Wright’s lab is engaged in efforts to discover new antibiotics and antibiotic alternatives such as adjuvants, and in interested in exploring the mechanism, diversity, and evolution of antibiotic resistance.

2019 Seed Funding Recipients
Dedicated to helping eliminate the global threat of antimicrobial resistance, the David Braley Centre for Antibiotic Discovery has demonstrated its commitment to fostering scientific collaboration by providing significant seed funding for four milestone-driven projects related to antimicrobial research and discovery.
