Packers’ development potential moves across Lombardi Ave. with funeral home site purchase

As the Packers prepare to get back on the football field, the team continues to make moves off of it. For the first time, the team has purchased land north of Lombardi Avenue.

A Packers spokesperson confirmed to FOX 11 the team recently bought about two acres of land on the northwest corner of Lombardi Avenue and Ridge Road, which includes Lyndahl Funeral Home.

Thanks to the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh’s Environmental Research and Innovation Center, there are 32 students taking part in paid summer internships—many in Wisconsin vacation spots.

Michaela Prince, of Winneconne, started her internship in Vilas County after graduating from UWO in May with a degree in biology. She is staying in a cabin in Conover, 11 miles from the well-known tourist community of Eagle River and its chain of lakes.

Area waterfront projects receive state grants

Several water-related projects in Northeast Wisconsin are among those receiving a total of $1.5 million in state grants.

According to Gov. Tony Evers' office, the grants will help projects aimed at enhancing public access to the Great Lakes, sustainable use practices, community development, habitat restoration and pollution control.

Included among the grants in our area are $60,000 to the City of Kewaunee to buy part of the Salmon Harbor Marina, $52,120 to NEW Water to address flooding along....

Fox Cities Stadium will host three consecutive nights of drive-in concerts July 23-35.

The Paperfest Rockin’ Drive-in Concerts will feature area bands Vic Ferrari Symphony on the Rocks July 23, Boogie & the Yo Yo’z July 24 and Road Trip July 25. Shows start at 7:30 p.m.

According to a new report released Tuesday by the Wisconsin Economic Development Corp., wage and salary income across Wisconsin and the nation will fall by 9% in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, which will be detrimental to the state's economic activity.
