Monthly newsletter of the Virtual Physiological Human for Integrative Biomedical Research & the Digital Patient News
Dear VPH Friends,
In May we celebrated the 2 year anniversary of the VPH Institute. These two years have been intense and full of satisfactions:
- we have an active Policy Affairs Work Group, which has been working hard to ensure visibility to VPH at both Parliament and EC level. As a proof of the effectiveness of the energy invested, we are proud to announce that on June 26th, a high level expert meeting on the eHealth Action Plan 2012-2020 and the role of the Virtual Physiological Human (VPH) will take place in the EC parliament co-hosted by the MEPs Seán Kelly and Vittorio Prodi,
- we have a motivated Board of Directors, which sees a number of leading VPH Institutions in its composition and whose representatives are strongly involved in setting the conditions to further develop the VPH technology in the future, engaging the right stakeholders,
- we have effectively taken over the management of the VPH conference from the VPH NoE and we are making sure to give sustainability to the activities started by the Network, which has not come to an end,
- also, we have a growing worldwide membership.
Last but not least, today we have another great news: our newly designed web site has just been released: www.vph-institute.org  The new website is a signal of the direction the Institute is taking: professionalism and eye for details.
Thanks to all of you for having contributed to make this possible and happy birthday to the Institute!
Regards,
VPH team

News on the Digital Patient Roadmap

The Digital Patient Roadmap – Available, Ready & your last opportunity to comment!
Message from the Coordinator: Vanessa Diaz
Dear colleagues,
First of all, I wanted to thank all those who contributed directly to the Digital Patient Roadmap by taking the time to discuss your ideas and put them into writing. This is the basis of concrete calls for recommendations that we will make to the EC in order to continue developing the Digital Patient strategy (and the VPH in general). It has been a huge effort to get it done, but here we are.
We will be still accepting very concrete comments in order to improve the Roadmap until the 21st of June 2013 but the main bulk of the work is there. If you would like to get in touch with us, please write directly to the BiomedTown forum (discipulus@biomedtown.org – registration needed) or to our colleague Veli Stroetmann (veli.stroetmann@empirica.com).
Kind regards,
Vanessa
