Role Models - Coaches - Mentors
If you are serious about wanting to be successful in business; role models, coaches and mentors will accelerate your learning curve and help you maximize your opportunities. In January 2017, the NNBA will be publishing NNBA Coaching Resources out on www.NNBANow.com. You will be able to view information and area specialty of multiple NNBA members that provide coaching services. Mentoring is at the heart of the NNBA and we are so fortunate to have the rich resources of so many nurse coaches and mentors! Speaking of role models, next week I’m meeting a few of mine; Jack Canfield and Brian Tracy at James Malinchak’s Big Money Speaker Bootcamp in Los Angeles. I am so happy that several nurses will be joining me. In case you have not read Jack Canfield’s The Success Principles, I believe it is a must read for any entrepreneur and Brian Tracy’s classic, Maximum Achievement was invaluable during my corporate COO and CEO days.
National Caring for the Caregivers Holiday
While Stella Nsong was the state director of Ohio's Elder Care Planning Council, she created a holiday to raise awareness that family caregivers need help, self-care, wellness and ongoing support.Stella celebrates this holiday by doing a 24 hour event to draw attention to the fact that caregiving is a 24 hour responsibility. Stella invites you to join her and other NNBA members on Friday, December 9th in Washington DC, where they will be working all day providing care, radio interviews, teaching caregivers, pampering caregivers spreading hope and support. For more information; email Stella at Stella@CaregiverCliffnotes.com

Do You Make Excuses or Take Initiative?

IQ Matrix
The most successful executives and entrepreneurs you can think of likely didn't get where they are by chance. Typically, achieving great things involves hard work, perseverance as well as a supportive network of friends and family. But another ingredient typically goes into the mix: Discipline. Take it from these executives who share the daily habits which help them get on top, and stay there.
You are overwhelmed. You are an amazing, intelligent, powerful corporate business success story. You have broken through the glass ceiling of your industry, yet somehow you are under so much stress, pressure, and overwhelm to produce or “do” that everything no longer seems to make any sense.

There are deadlines and timelines not only in your business life, but in your personal life as well.
Okay, we’ve all been there. Something just doesn’t work out, or something doesn’t quite go the way you had expected. Just maybe you failed to hit the target you had in mind.

When things don’t quite pan out as you had imagined, do you typically take ownership? Do you take responsibility? Maybe you’re the kind of person who takes initiative? Or maybe you are the kind of person who just makes excuses?
